Fast Weight Loss Using Herbs And Spices

Fast Weight Loss Using Herbs And Spices was written by Marie Gordon and she writes "I wonder how much it is generally known that the benefits of using herbs and spices can speed up your weight loss efforts, by quite a considerable amount actually.

We all know that herbs and spices are used with cooking to varying degrees, and of course the primary reason for doing so is to make food much more tasty and interesting.

I suspect however that you might be surprised at the considerable health benefits that can also be gained by using them. In saying this I am referring to those everyday items that can be found in most larders, and not necessarily those exotic and probably not so well known varieties.

I happened to discover the many benefits of herbs and spices and the fact that they can be most beneficial to a weight loss program, when I was doing extremely detailed research for my latest book. The results of that research were so extensive that it could be the basis in itself for a complete publication, and much more detailed therefore than I could possibly include in this short article..

However I have been able to include a fair amount of information in this feature about various herbs and spices which are known to particularly help to speed up weight loss, and that is also in addition to their excellent overall health benefits by the way.

You should find that you will be able to purchase these herbs from any good Herbalist supplier.

Garcinia:(Garcinia cambogia) is a herb which is sold primarily for enhancing weight loss and boosting the amount of lean muscle. This is also known as hila or brindell berry.

One of the major benfits of Garcinia is that it acts as an appetite suppressant and stops the body from storing fat.

Pysillium:(Plantago spp.) This cheeky little herb has quite a few health benefits. Physillium is known to help lower cholesterol, and another major benefit is that it also helps to prevent constipation.

If you use it as part of your weight loss program, it can help you to eat less calories and yet still feel really full.

This is because of the amount of fiber that it contains.

I mentioned earlier that it does help in preventing constipation, but in order to achieve this you should make sure that you drink plenty of water.

Siberian Gingsing:(Eleutherococcus senticosus) If you are going to start regular exercise as part of your health and weight loss routine, which is normally to be highly recommended, then this is a really useful herb.

It can help your body adapt to the stress of unaccustomed changes, and it will help to make you feel less tired even when you are doing simple exercises like walking for example.

So in turn therefore you are more likely to stick to your exercise routine.

Little Known Secrets In Your Larder

Cayenne:(also known as Capsicum, hot pepper, chilli pepper, tabasco pepper). The majority of us have cayenne in our larders, and it is very commonly used in many food dishes. Cayenne can be found in many forms such as ground spices, teas, and would you believe it, topical creams.

It is well known for its antitoxidant action, and greatly helps with osteoathritis and rhumatoid athritis, shingles, and diabetic neuropathy.

A note of caution however: Cayenne may act with anticoagulant drugs so be sure to consult with your doctor. Excessive use may also irritate the intestinal tract.

Manufactured topical capsacin creams can cause a burning sensation, so test first on a small area of the skin, remembering to wash hands thoroughly after applying the cream. This will avoid it spreading to the eyes nose or other sensitive areas.

Fennel: is native to the Mediterranean and is widely utilized throughout the world. You will find it in teas, capsules, tinctures and lozenges.

Fennel can be used to help with bloating, flatulence, mild digestive spasms, catarrh, and coughs. It also has antimicrobal, antispadmodic, and anti inflammatory properties.

A note of caution here: Fennel can sometimes cause rare allergic skin and respiratory tract reactions. Fennel is also a potential source of synthetic oestrogens and should be avoided if you are pregnant.

Garlic: you can buy this fresh, or the one you will most probably have in your larder will be dried. The downside of garlic is the odour which it leaves on your breath, but chewing some parsley after eating will soon sort out that problem.

Garlic is also known to help stimulate the immune system, and to help in fighting cancer. Well documented health benefits include lowering cholesterol, fighting infections, and reducing blood pressure.

Again a note of caution: garlic may also interact with anticoaglant drugs, so do be sure to check with your doctor if in any doubt. Rare cases of allergic reactions are known, and some people might possibly experience heartburn or even flatulence.

These are just a few of the herbs you can use in cooking, but do remember that there are many many more, and the benefits in using them frequently can be quite remarkable.

You will realize of course that when using them as part of any dish to use them sparingly, as to add too much would just spoil the meal.

As with everything in life one should try and strike a balance, after all you know what they say "all things in moderation".

The Myth of Fast Weight Loss

The Myth of Fast Weight Loss was written by Arina Nikitina and she writes "You will be surprised to find out how many people are actually looking for a fast weight loss program. Why fast? Well, first of all, most of us are impatient. We live hectic lives. We want results now, we want to notice the change right away, and we don't want to work hard to achieve those results.

Most people eat what they want all year round, prefer TV over exercising and dream about how next week (or month/year) they are going to start a healthy lifestyle. Suddenly one day they realize that it is just 2 weeks left before they have to go to a Christmas party or that summer is coming up and they want to look good in the new bikini. Usually around this time I get hundreds of emails - all of them pretty much the same "I have this event coming up in two weeks. I need to lose about 10-15 pounds. What is the fastest way to do it?"

Of course TV and Internet is full of commercials that promise you to lose 20 pounds in two weeks. They even show you tons of pictures of fit, smiling people with perfect bodies. Just pop a magic pill 3 times a day and you will turn into a supermodel right away. Sounds good, right?

I hate to disappoint you but this is just another scam created to get your money. There is no such thing as fast weight loss. I'm sure I'll get some infuriated replies like "That can't be true! My friend Maggie lost 16 pounds in two weeks doing Low carb diet!" Well you are in for another disappointment. Your friend didn't lose any fat. She lost water and muscle.

Human body is a well coordinated working mechanism. It has no idea that you've decided to fit in a size 8 dress and doing some new fad diet. It thinks you are starving. It's too concerned about survival to allow us losing weight fast. Instead your metabolism slows down to conserve the energy. As soon as you'll start eating normal food you'll gain all of your weight back and some extra pounds in addition to that.

To make it simple fast weight loss is always followed by fast weight gain. No exceptions. In addition to that when you lose weight too fast, your skin does not have enough time to shrink, it will become loose.

The right amount of weight that the average person can lose in one week by eating correctly and doing exercises is around 2-3 pounds. That is a healthy, safe, effective amount to lose. Only that way you can get long lasting results. I know it is not as fast as many people would like to lose weight, but think about it how long did it take you to gain weight? I bet you $1000 dollars you didn't gain 20 pounds in two weeks. It is only logical, that your body will not allow you to lose 20 pounds in two weeks. Sorry!

I'm trying to save your money here, so repeat after me "There is no machine, no special diet, no special workout program, no special pill or special patch that will help me to lose weight fast and healthy at the same time". Repeat it to yourself every time you have an urge to buy some "quick fix" no matter how appealing it sounds.

Remember people who have created these commercials are professionals who know what you would like to hear. Don't let them fool you. Just try to eat right and work out. Be consistent. Make one little step at a time and you'll be surprised how far you can actually go.

Fast Weight Loss - 7 Day Diet Program for Quick Weight Loss

Fast Weight Loss - 7 Day Diet Program for Quick Weight Loss was written by Carrie Reeder and she writes "Do you have a big event coming up? Perhaps you have a great dress that you bought in the hopes of losing ten pounds, but just haven't gotten around to losing enough weight to fit into it. In addition to supplements and other weight loss products, maybe the solution to your problem is a seven-day diet.

Seven-day diets are developed to be followed for ONLY seven days, with at least two weeks in between. The popular cabbage soup diet, for example, has stringent guidelines for days one through seven, and promises a weight loss of about ten pounds in a week. As long as you go back to a sensible diet program after your seven day stretch, it is presumable that you can lose weight and keep it off. If your problem is obesity, this might not be the best plan for you, but if you're just a little bit overweight and just want to fit into those jeans from high-school this is a great alternative to a diet like Atkins or working yourself to death at the gym.

It goes a little something like this. Day one: eat any fruit except for bananas, and as much cabbage soup as you want. Drink any unsweetened teas and cranberry juice and plenty of water. Day two: Eat as many veggies as you can stand. Try to go with leafy green stuff (cooked or raw is fine) and stay away from dry beans, peas, and corn. Eat any veggies you want with your soup, and for a hard day's work congratulate yourself with a baked potato for dinner. You can even splurge with a little butter. For day three mix the first two days up, except no baked potato. On day four, eat as many bananas and drink as much skim milk as you'd like with your soup. No other fruit or veggies. This day is designed to lessen your sweet cravings.

Now you're already half way through the week. That wasn't so hard, was it? On day five, you can work some meat into your diet with either chicken (no skin!) or beef. Ten to twenty ounces of meat and up to six fresh tomatoes with at least one serving of your soup makes for an exquisite day of dining. Day six you can eat as much veggies and beef as you'd like with at least one serving of soup. On one of the two days, you can substitute broiled fish for your beef, but not both. On the last day, eat some brown rice and drink any unsweetened fruit juice. Eat as much as you'd like, and make sure you eat soup at least once.

That's it. By now, you should have achieved your short term weight loss goals with this low-fat diet, and with continued sensible eating and supplements, you should have no problem keeping the weight off. For more tips, do a quick Internet search. There are a variety of free diet plans on the web, including detailed menus for this and other like diets.

Dieting Tips For Fast Weight Loss - How To Jump-start Your Diet

Dieting Tips For Fast Weight Loss - How To Jump-start Your Diet was written by Carrie Reeder and writes "Do you want to lose weight fast? While there is no diet that will allow you to eat as much as you want and still lose weight, there are things you can do to speed along the process. Good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle are the most important aspects of any diet, but there are appetite suppressants and diet aids designed to help you burn fat and increase your metabolic rate. There are many safe diet products available but keep in mind some products may have severe side effects so choose your diet aids carefully.

You can speed the weight loss process by choosing the types of foods you eat carefully. A low fat, reduced calorie diet is one of the best ways to lose weight. You won't lose weight over night but you should see a gradual drop in your weight over time. Generally, the more weight one has to lose, the faster the weight will disappear. Those who are severely obese will lose weight at a much faster rate then someone who is only moderately overweight.

Diets that produce very fast weight loss are usually not for long-term use. Starvation or fad diets should last a short period of time. A lack of good nutrition can lead to permanent health problems. You can lose a large amount of weight quickly with these diets which may give you the will power to continue your weight loss efforts when you change to a more nutritionally sound type of diet. Your health is the most important consideration when choosing a diet plan or product. See your doctor before starting a weight loss program.

Your diet should include plenty of fruits, vegetables, fish, and lean meats. Prepare your food without added fats such as butter or cooking oil. Make sure you take a vitamin each day while dieting. A short term weight loss plan may be very helpful to you in the initial stages of your diet, but over time your body requires healthy eating habits and exercise to keep the weight off once you have lost it. Good nutrition is imperative to you health. Any diet that allows you to lose weight quickly is not a long-term solution and should only be used briefly.

There are many products available to help you lose weight. There are supplements, diet plans, programs and online support systems to help you manage your eating habits and measure your weight loss progress. Fast Weight Loss for Special Occasions

Fast Weight Loss for Special Occasions was written by Gary and writes "Losing weight quickly is not advisable as most of the loss will be muscle tissue and water; you put on the weight slowly (usually over years) so normally you should take it off slowly and then you will know that the majority of the loss will be body fat.

But you have a problem here and the clock is ticking so you will have to diet pretty hard to meet your target weight loss. Let's look at that first, you all know that diets don't work; they send the body into starvation mode, a survival mechanism from long age when humans faced periods of famine.

Going too low in calories causes the body to lower its metabolic rate, which reduces its ability to burn fat. At the same time, hunger signals increase and you quickly start to crave high-energy foods loaded with fats and sugar, the same foods you are trying to do without..

Research shows repeated dieting actually makes it harder to lose weight and easier to put it on because when you dump the diet and return to normal eating habits the drop in metabolic rate caused by the diet means that your old habits actually represent an excess in calories. Not only do you regain the fat stores just lost, but also you may even gain an extra bit.

Knowing this, you really don't want to put yourselves through this rigorous process, but for this special occasion you will. First though, you will have to boost the metabolism that has been lowered by the dieting. To do this you will have to perform a "Strength Train" workout to generate that initial spike in your metabolism. By increasing the lean muscle on your body by using Strength Training, your metabolism will increase, burning fat along the way.

The strength training technique I use requires just twenty to thirty mins per week. Gone are the days of the five-day a week program with 6 to 12 sets per body part that, method has never worked. One short intense strength-training workout a week will elevate your metabolism more than you ever thought possible.

While the calories expended doing exercise are important, the increase in metabolism especially after strength training continues long after the exercise is finished, burning calories at the same time.

The two main components of this technique are the intensity of the exercise and the recovery after the exercise. Infrequent, short, high intensity weight training sessions, followed by the required amount of time to recover and become stronger is what is needed to increase functional lean muscle and lose body fat.

The way to lose body fat and maintain muscle is to have a food program for life. Quality food and more energy output are the basics you'll need to go for. Bulk foods that fill you up and don't fill you out, foods that are low in fat and sugar which aren't refined should be the ideal.

Small frequent meals should be consumed during the day each containing a little protein to maintain muscle mass and energy levels. A high quality broad spectrum vitamin and mineral supplement should also be taken on a daily basis.

As before get the calories from high quality food but if you can't, utilize a blender to make concoctions from skim milk with whatever additives you want to use, just as long as you keep count of the calories for your daily total.

Now use these blender mixtures and solid food for your daily feedings. Spread it out over many small meals a day instead of the traditional three meals a day. The way to keep track of weight loss is to buy a calorie counter and record your daily calorie intake for a week.

Now average out how many calories you consume a day with the use of a seven-day eating plan and calorie counter, once you have this figure subtract 1000 calories and this will be the target number of calories you will be aiming for.

Remembering that one-pound of fat contains 3500cals, losing 1000 calories a day will total 7000 for the week, which equals two pounds lost by dietary means alone. Another technique for low calorie eating is to watch your fat intake as this has the most calories.

Incidental activity is also very important if you want to lose this amount of weight in this short period of time, by increasing incidental activity you can burn at least another pound a week The best exercise for the purpose of fat-loss is fast walking either indoors on the treadmill or outdoors.

Walk until you are mildly puffing and hold that rate until the allotted time. If your aerobic activities leave you panting or breathless, your going too hard, your energy is coming from your carbohydrate reserves and not from your fat stores. Try fast walking for one hour a day every day of the week.

Well there you have it, as an experienced trainer I wouldn't recommend this type of program to my clients. The weight loss is just too quick and the program would be very hard to maintain owing to the very low caloric intake.

I advise my clients to decrease their calories by just 500 per day (and no more) below their maintenance levels and they will be losing 1 - 2 pounds of body fat every week, safely, without craving and without too much disruption to their lifestyle.

Remember, think long term here and that's between 30 and 50 pounds of fat lost in six months. Any faster and all you will be losing is water and precious muscle tissue.

The Great 8 Eating Tips for Fast Weight Loss

The Great 8 Eating Tips for Fast Weight Loss @ Body Perfect Fitness was written by Low Carb, Low Fat, More protein, Eat all the fat you want..... These are the many things we hear as we are bombarded with the latest and NOT always the greatest diet and eating tips when trying to find the Silver Bullet for permanent weight loss.

Well I thought that we would talk about common sense proven tips that will ensure that along with a solid fitness program, will help support your fitness and health goals for life.

Eating Tip 1
Eat Slow- If you read about the French Paradox, which discusses why the French eat a lot of fatty foods, but are a leaner society than that of the United States. They take their meals very seriously and it is one of the most important times of the day. You will get multiple benefits from this tip. Eating Slow will help your body absorb the food at the right level allowing you to fill up much quicker as it will not provide a tendency for you to OVEREAT!!! The other awesome benefit is that you can spend more time with your family so that you can share the important things in life with each other!!!

Eating Tip 2
Eat 5-6 times per day. Do not allow your blood sugar levels to drop, in between meals. By eating more often and eating the right types of foods that are on the low end of the glycemic index, you can keep your blood sugar levels more even throughout the day, and ensure that you are not getting those mid-afternoon yawns and also help keep the excess weight off. Remember that when you spike your blood sugar by eating simple sugars and refined carbohydrates, this will potentially cause your body to store fat!!!

Eating Tip 3
Eat Your Breakfast... I was bad at this many years ago, but I learned to fuel up early in the day. Eating a good solid breakfast to start your day helps supply you with the fuel you need to get started, especially if you are incorporating a early morning fitness program in to your day. You need the fuel to get your engine going in the morning. Do not starve your body early, because you may have the tendency to binge eat later, because your body gets into the craving mode. Feed your body early!!

Eating Tip 4
Slow down as the sun goes down. What do I mean by this? Well just as important as it is to eat a great breakfast to start the day, it is also as equally important to reduce your food consumption as the day goes on. So plan to eat a good solid breakfast, a good lunch, and reduce your meal portions at dinner time. Remember as you get closer to bedtime your body starts to wind down and you will not have the same opportunity at night to burn those consumed meal calories as you did earlier in the day. So eat more early and back down as you reach sun down.

Eating Tip 5
Give yourself 3 hours!!! Yes 3 hours before going to bed. Do not consume anymore calories. As I mentioned before, your body starts to slow down as the day goes on and gets ready for sleep. You do not want to consume a lot of calories right before you go to bed, because you will end of potentially storing those calories as FAT!!!

Your body sometimes give you a false sense of being hungry as you bedtime nears. You get those 9pm cravings... And a lot of people end up hitting the Refrigerator and over-consuming right before bed time... Not good for managing your weight and body fat %. If you just can't resist the munchies, then what I do is eat a few high good fat nuts. Like unsalted Almonds skin-on (good for fiber) or a couple spoonfuls of no sugar added all natural peanut butter. Eating a good quality fat food will satisfy your craving and will keep you from binging on something with lots of bad carbohydrates or simple sugars, like ice cream, cake or cookies.

Eating Tip 6
Stay focused on eating green in every meal. Always incorporate a good high quality low glycemic index dark green vegetable with each meal. I suggest things like spinach or romaine lettuce in your lunch time salads. Eating broccoli, asparagus, or steamed spinach as your vegetable at dinner time. All of these dark green vegetables supply your body with great vitamins and nutrients as well as being great sources of fiber and are naturally low on the glycemic index scale and will keep your blood sugar levels from spiking after eating. So think Dark green at meal time and challenge yourself to keep it as part of each and every eating event.

Eating Tip 7
Blend your foods.. Blending your foods means making sure that if you are eating a food item that does contain carbohydrates make sure that you incorporate a good low fat protein along with it. Eating a low carb tortilla wrap where the first ingredient is whole wheat flour that is unrefined. Add lean chicken breast as part of your filling in the wrap, maybe with some thinly shredded romaine lettuce and other veggies.

Eating Tip 8
Use splenda as your sweetener of choice, when looking for a simple sugar replacement. I have tried many sugar subs over the years an no other product has the taste of sugar like splenda does. Not equal and surely not sweet and low. Splenda is outstanding for sprinkling on low glycemic fresh fruit like blueberries, raspberries and strawberries, and I also use it to sweeten my drink of choice. Caffeine Free Green Tea that I infuse with cinnamon stick and whole cloves. What a refreshing cold beverage that keeps the caffeine out of your diet, provides you a great antioxidant and does not spike your blood sugar levels by using the no calorie sweetner in splenda.

So I hope you enjoy my GREAT 8!!!

These eating tips will help keep you on the right track, when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle.. All of these tips are the tools that I live by every day....

3 Fast Weight Loss Tips That Work

3 Fast Weight Loss Tips That Work was written by John W. Lewis and he writes "Looking to lose some pounds quickly? Fast and safe weight loss is possible - but only if you do it right. Just keep in mind that we're only talking about losing a few pounds here. 5, maybe 10, within a few weeks. No matter what anyone tells you, you're not going to safely lose 20 lbs. of fat in 2 weeks. It's just not possible. Plus, long-term weight loss success usually only occurs after many months of slow, steady body fat reduction through increased exercise and healthier eating. It's also important to remember to check with your doctor before starting any intense weight loss program.

That said, there are some proven steps you can take to lose a few pounds quickly, without hurting yourself. In fact, the following fast weight loss tips will probably improve your health. Sound good? Then here you go...

1. Eat a lot of food - Yes, you read that right, eat a lot! The process of eating and digesting food requires a lot of energy (calories) and significantly boosts your metabolism, especially when you eat small meals every 2 or 3 hours. The key is to eat the right foods... and none of the wrong foods, at least while you're on your fast weight loss program. The "right foods" include things like:

- lean proteins (especially low-fat chicken and turkey)

- fresh, uncooked vegetables (especially greens)

- beans and legumes (cooked without added fat)

- unsalted, oil-free nuts and seeds

- small amounts of olive oil and flax seed oil

- lots of pure water (not a real "food" but extremely important)

The "wrong foods" - what you should definitely avoid while you're trying to lose weight quickly - is pretty much everything else, but especially:

- foods and beverages with sugar

- white flour

- breads, pastas, cereals, etc.

- white rice

- potatoes

2. Avoid cravings - The most difficult part of any weight loss program is dealing with food cravings. When you stop eating the high-fat, high-sugar, high-calorie foods you're used to eating, your body rebels. Your brain tries to force you to go back to eating those unhealthy foods. But there are ways to deal with this natural response. One of the best strategies is to use distraction. Basically, whenever you feel a food craving coming on you get up and do something that takes your mind off of eating. Get out and do some exercise. Read a good book. Listen to your favorite music (fast-paced, heart-pumping music is often the best for this). Talk on the phone with a friend. Play a video game. Just do whatever it takes to distract your brain. After awhile your cravings should lessen.

3. Increase your cardio exercise - If you're already exercising on a regular basis, do more cardiovascular training to burn more fat. You don't have to do A LOT more, just enough to burn a few hundred more calories per day. Combined with your healthy fast weight loss diet it should be enough to drop a few pounds quickly. If you don't exercise regularly, you should ask your physician to recommend an easy "beginner's" exercise program that includes walking and/or light jogging. Also, try to do activities you enjoy. If you don't like running on a treadmill, don't try to force yourself to do it. Instead, go hiking, ride a bike, play some basketball/tennis/soccer/etc. Just make sure it's something you enjoy... and you'll keep doing it until your waist is a little smaller and your several pounds lighter!

The Healthiest Fast Weight Loss Plan

The Healthiest Fast Weight Loss Plan was written by Dr. Smith and he writes "In general, fast weight loss is not healthy. The faster you lose weight, the faster you'll gain it back. Here are the top 5 reasons fast weight loss plans are not healthy...

Diet fast and lose muscle not fat.
Diet fast and lose water not fat.
Diet fast and cause diet shock. What is diet shock?
Diet fast and make no lifestyle changes.
Diet fast and fail at long term weight loss.

Fast weight loss impacts your dieting efforts in so many negative ways, it's hard to imagine how any fast dieting attempts could produce healthy results.

The only thing I can think of is to use a lower goal for your weight loss. At a 5% weight reduction, your health improves, diet shock is minimized, and it's fast.

So, if planned properly, you can lose weight fast, in shorter time periods focusing on 5% reductions in total body weight..

At first, you will lose mostly muscle and water. But as you progress through each period, more and more fat will burn and less muscle. The way I see it, no matter how many fast weight loss warnings we write about, many of you will try the next one that hits the market. Instead of fighting, I want to work with you and provide you the healthiest yet fastest way to lose weight.

The Healthiest Fast Weight Loss Plan
Slow and consistent, a healthy weight loss plan delivers small successes everyday, building momentum along the way, peaking at the point in time when you reach you're goal. This is key to dieting success.

Most dieters do the opposite...they experience fast weight loss early, their momentum peaks mid-way, and by the end of the diet, they are completely deflated. With no energy left to carry them into the next stage of weight loss -- weight gain prevention -- most dieters give up at this point.

My fast weight loss plan avoids the deflation and lack of motivation at the end of the diet because it evenly spreads the weight loss over 6 weeks. When do most dieters lose the most weight? Weeks 1-3. On my plan? Weeks 2-5.

No, these results are not from a good rigorous clinical study. Instead, they are my own observation of several patients I follow in Dallas.

Healthy Fast Weight Loss Steps
Week One, Part One -- drink a protein shake supplement everyday. Do not change anything else. Drink a protein shake that's a 50:50 mix of whey to casein proteins. The best time to drink the shake depends on your physical activities.

Since most bodybuilders know what to do, I suggest for the rest of us, a protein shake between breakfast and lunch or between lunch and dinner. The time you choose depends on when you have the longest period of fasting. For me, it's between lunch and dinner, so my shake comes around 3pm.

Week One, Part Two -- Start an exercise program, with the first week involving nothing but stretching major muscle groups. Stretching increases the tonal stimulation to muscles (tone) causing them to burn more calories at rest. Plus it protects against injuries. The second week start some form of low impact aerobics...walking! Walk for 40 minutes everyday.

Week Two -- Start dieting by replacing 1/2 of a meal with the same protein shake from last week. Do this for 1 week.

Week Three -- Replace one whole meal with a protein shake. Change the mixture of the shake to 60% whey and 40% casein proteins. For most people, this comes out to about a 500 calorie reduction.

Week Four -- Reduce caloric intake by another 250 calories. I suggest adding a second protein shake, made up of the same 60:40 mix and use it to replace 1/2 of a another meal.

Record the amount of weight you're losing. Never let it reach a rate of more than 4 pounds per week (that's double what I normally recommend).

Week Five -- Repeat week four.
Week Six -- Add back the last 250 calories you dropped and stop drinking the second shake.

End Result -- 12 to 18 pounds of average weight loss. The exact amount depends on many factors including exercise.

Fast Weight Loss Summary
Don't do it. Fast weight loss inevitably will lead to future weight gain. Just don't do it. But, if you do, at least follow my steps, the healthiest steps to fast weight loss.

Fast Weight Loss Can You Really Lose 60lbs in 30 Days?

Fast Weight Loss - Can You Really Lose 60lbs in 30 Days? this article was written by Adrian Bryant and he writes "Fast Weight Loss - Is it better to lose 2lbs a day or 2lbs a week?

Yes it's very possible that you can lose 60lbs in 30 days but I don't think you would want to and here's the reason why:

Let's say you do lose 60lbs in 30 days? how much of that weight you lose do you think is going to be pure body fat? Remember-- body fat makes us look ugly.

Anytime you try to lose more than 2lbs a week or 60lbs in 30 days (2lbs a day!)?A larger part of the weight you lose is only going to be water and muscle. Losing a lot of water and muscle weight does nothing to improve your looks and it slows down your metabolism..

Slow metabolism = easier weight gain

Every time you see a weight loss ad that's too good to be true?the ad is basically saying "Hey you can lose 60lbs in 30 days but some of that weight you lose is going to be water and muscle weight"

Whenever you are trying to lose weight (body fat) for good and look your very best you definitely do not want to lose any muscle. Every time you lose muscle your metabolism slows down. A slower metabolism makes it easier for you to gain weight

As a matter of fact you may be one of those people who gain weight just by looking at food. The reason for your easy weight gain is that you probably don't have that much muscle to begin with and when you try to lose 60lbs overnight you are only going to lose more muscle making it very easy for to gain all the weight back you just lost!

The more muscle you have the better you look. Even if you had two people of the same height & weight but both had different amounts of muscle in their bodies--the person who has the most muscle will always look better.

Are the outrageous claims that the weight loss ads make true? Can you lose 60lbs in 30 days or 10lbs overnight? The answer isn't No but a big Maybe.

But if you do happen to lose 60lbs in 30 days you're only going to look worse (because of the muscle you lose) and you're going to gain it all back quicker than you lost it (because you're metabolism is slower now that you lost muscle)

What if you have to lose 10lbs in one week to pass a physical exam? In this case you may have no choice but to go on "Dr. whoever's rice cake diet" to lose 10lbs in a week. All you're looking for in that situation is a quick fix to your weight loss problem.

But if you want to lose weight for good, look your best, & keep your metabolism burning at a steady rate? You got to lose weight at a much slower rate.

You want to try to lose no more than 2lbs a week or 3lbs at the most when you want to lose weight permanently. Usually when you lose anything over 2lbs a week you are only losing water and muscle weight which again has no effect on long-term weight loss or significantly improving the way you look.

Losing 2lbs a week is a lot simpler than trying to lose 10lbs a week. One of the things you can do to start losing 2lbs a week is to substitute higher calorie foods you eat with lower calorie foods.

For example a simple trick that I have most of my clients do is to replace all the sodas and juices they drink with water. The drinking water trick is taken very lightly by a lot of people---but many of my clients tell me that they see a difference in their weight after drinking only water for a couple of weeks.

The other thing you can do is to increase your daily physically activity. This doesn't mean that you have to start signing up for marathons regularly. To gradually increase your physical activity you can--

* Park in the back of parking lots so you have to walk more to your destination

* You can take the stairs instead of the elevator-it doesn't have to be all the flights?walk some flights and take the elevator the rest of the way.

* Play golf or play with your kids everyday

The point is to just do something? It doesn't have to a lot at first but after about a couple weeks start to take 20-30minitue walks in the park or ride a bicycle everyday.

Long-term weight loss doesn't happen in 60 days or overnight?
it happens in the Long-term. Just remember that the next time you see a weight loss ad that promises you unbelievable results.

Fast Weight Loss Takes Time

Fast Weight Loss Takes Time was written by Kathryn Martyn and she writes "I recently received the following email:

Q. Five weeks ago, I began an exercise program and so far I have not lost any weight or gained in muscle tone, which is my goal. Regardless, I intend to keep it up, knowing that the results I want will occur if I give it time.

A. Yes, your results will occur if given enough time. Just stay the course. Be consistent and you'll get there. Luckily she was not upset about the lack of progress on her bathroom scale but most people aren't so willing to take that time..

Typical Dieter Losing Weight with Exercise: Ms. Too Tight Pants Decides to Drop a Dress Size

1. She starts out feeling excited, knowing she'll lose the weight she wants in the long run, if she can stay with it. (She's read the books. She knows this eating better and exercising more works).

2. She starts feeling better right away, although the scale shows no difference. (Results take awhile to build, and she knows this but it gets harder and harder to wait.)

3. Her clothes begin to fit looser. People start to notice, asking "Hey you're looking good. What are you doing?" (Things are starting to happen, but not very quickly).

4. She does "all the right things," such as eating well and getting good rest. She's tracking what she's eating and keeping a journal. It's all going great. (Consistency is the secret and a very good discipline).

5. Since she's been "so good" she decides to step on the scale. She's even got rewards in mind depending on how much she's lost. (Where's the evidence? She's getting impatient and wants to know this is working).

6. Alas! The scale shows a three pound weight gain and she throws her hands up in despair saying, "This doesn't work! I quit!" (The scale doesn't show us what is going on inside, it only weighs the total package. Maybe she just finished drinking 16 ounces of water, that's a pound right there).

7. She dismisses the real evidence (how she feel better and looks better; how she's been getting compliments; how her clothes fit better and some are getting too lose to wear) and she decides instead to rely of the wisdom of the bathroom scale. That piece of metal sitting on the bathroom floor, known for wildly inaccurate results, but nevertheless trusted as the ultimate authority.

She may have even started to gain some valuable active muscle tissue that supports and sustains the body, creates beautiful curves, and burns calories in the process, but without the result she wanted to see on her scale, she's quit.

Your body is made up of fat, skin, bone and muscle (plus water). When you exercise the goal is to increase the muscle and decrease the fat. A pound of muscle takes up much less space than a pound of fat, so regardless of what number you see on the bathroom scale, if you have been exercising, you are building a better, healthier frame.

Give your body a chance to display the results you seek. Rely on the evidence you see in how your clothes fit for instance. If you're losing inches, but the scale hasn't shown a change just wait. The scale will catch up soon enough. If you've gotten on the path to better health and weight loss, stay the course. Fast weight loss takes time.

How to Lose Weight Without All the Pills

How to Lose Weight Without All the Pills was written by Dek Santos and he writes "I'll get right to the point. I'll give to you the secret to easy natural weight loss, without all the pills and tricks. I've seen a lot of garbage in today's TV and print ads. With this article, I'll show you why you never have to buy another exercise machine or diet pill that rip you off without producing results!

The present weight you have is the result of the balance of calorie intake and expenditure that has been going on since the day you were born! Calorie intake represents the food that we eat, and expenditure represents how much work and exercise you are doing. So as you've noticed, there are two factors in the equation: calorie intake, and expenditure. If you increase calorie intake with the latter held constant, you gain weight! This sounds rather simple but to tell you frankly, IT REALLY IS! For now don't be confounded by concepts like basal metabolic rate, calorie conversions, food composition, etc. I will discuss to you today the very key concept that will jumpstart your natural weight loss journey!

In this first article, I'll tackle the first factor in the equation: Calories

Calorie is a unit of energy. This energy is usually delivered to us through the food we eat. Most of the calorie we take in is used for our normal body functions. So what happens to excess calories? They get stored! As What? Of Course, As FAT! Even if you avoid all the fat but eat tons of protein or carbs, as long as you overshoot your calorie requirement, you'll get fat! So mind the "amount" of food you eat more than the "kind" of food you eat (there's more to this statement, on future articles may be).

Calorie counting is rather tedious and more often than not, people give up just by counting calories before actual weight loss ever begins. So I'll introduce you to a concept of calorie cutting. When you eat, divide your plate into "partitions". A partition can be a cup of rice, three loaves of bread, a chicken thigh, a small piece of porkchop, etc. The magic number is 200-250. Treat each reasonable partition as containing 200-250 calories each. To maintain the present weight you have, the amount of calories that you have to take in is predicted by this formula: Weight in Kg x 28. So a 50kg man would require 1400 calories for him neither gain nor lose weight. This total calorie requirement can be divided into 6-7 "partitions" a day. So, what is the next logical step? EAT ONE PARTITION LESS! EAT ONE PARTITION LESS every 2-3 weeks and this will usually give you a safe, gradual weight loss.

It may take a few days to get used in estimating partitions but you'll get used to it sooner than you can expect. As you lose weight, recompute your present-weight calorie requirement and repeat the cycle until you achieve your desired weight.

The next article will feature more of this concept and the other factor in the equation.

You don't need diet pills! All you need is yourself and your genuine commitment! Until next time!

How to Lose Weight Fast

How to Lose Weight Fast was written by Janie Jonah and she writes "When it comes to weight loss, those of use that can sorely need it often don't think past changing our diet a little hoping that that will do the trick. It shouldn't take long really. A few skipped desserts and I should be shedding those pounds in no time. Unfortunately this is probably the single biggest factor to account for failed weight loss attempts. People simply aren't educated in the task of losing weight. I often wonder how many people, given the facts, would not even begin to make changes in their lives for the purpose of losing weight.

The idea that losing weight is something to be tackled at the dinner table alone, unfortunately, isn't true. It's a start, but we need to make changes to other parts of our lives if we are going to be successful at losing those pounds we're tired of covering up..

Eating correctly is the first step to losing weight. When it comes to eating, the most important thing you must do is count calories. The more you restrict your calorie intake, the faster you will see results. Excess calories are turned into fat, so eating less of them makes sense. We also burn off calories when we exercise, so the more calories we take in, the more exercise we will need to perform if we want to lose the weight.

But what exercises should I perform? One of the most effective forms of exercise is cardiovascular training. Cardio burns calories fast. What needs to be achieved is a level of exercise that will burn off your daily calorie intake. All training beyond this point would then work at burning off fat stored. Exercises such as aerobics and circuit training are very effective at burning up calories and fat.

Weight training or resistance training if you like, is also very effective at burning calories. One might wonder just how this can be considering that cardiovascular exercises are so effective at burning calories and yet so to is weight training. As physical exercise goes, they are at opposite ends of the spectrum. The secret behind weight training is that it speeds up your bodies metabolism, which helps the body burn up calories faster. Weight training also tones your muscles and more importantly for men, builds size and shape, so that when you do shed those unwanted pounds, a fit shapely form is waiting to be 'unwrapped'.

Put all of this into a training plan and you are well on your way to losing weight. Remember, restrict your calorie intake and exercise in the gym at least 3 times a week, performing cardiovascular exercises and resistance or weight training and you have the essentials of a successful weight loss program in place.

Is Weight Loss Surgery Right For You?

Christain Cullen has written "Is Weight Loss Surgery Right For You?" and writes "Weight loss surgery is a way to lose weight quickly. It is not meant to serve everyone’s needs, but rather the needs of those that are severely overweight. Those that have other health problems are even more hindered by their weight or those that have the likelihood to develop health problems due to their excessive weight, are the best candidates for this type of surgery.

If you are severely obese, it may be important to consider how surgery can change it. The most common type of surgery for weight loss happens to be one that will shorten the size of the stomach. When it does this, you are unable to eat a large amount of food. In fact, only a few bites can be eaten at any one time. By doing this, your body will need to fully digest a meal before you can eat again. The body then must go to the fat reserves to burn them for energy..

This type of surgery for weight loss can be very successful. Yet, there are some risks to it. If you are someone that won’t take care of yourself, and you eat more than you should, you could risk the potential damages to the stomach and therefore expand it enough that you could eat larger meals again. Or, you may rupture what the surgery has done. Even still there are the risks to consider of major surgery like this.

If you are considering a surgery that will help you with your weight loss, consider what it can do for you but also how it will work. This surgery is not for those that are looking to lose a few pounds, but rather for those that are looking to lose a large amount of weight to improve their health. The risks and the careful control should be considered.

Fast Weight Loss Doesn't Last

Fast Weight Loss Doesn't Last was written by Kathy Burns-Millyard and she writes "Many of us are so frustrated with trying to lose weight, we resort to trying one of the fast weight loss solutions we see on late night TV, or on the Internet. And yes, most of these can work, but there are trade offs.

In general, when you try to lose weight fast with a crash diet, you will most likely lose a bit of weight. It's not uncommon to lose 10 pounds in a week or less. That weight loss is reflected on your scale, and in a looser fit to your clothes.

The problem though, is that the weight loss isn't good for you. And to make matters worse... it's usually not permanent..

Most fast weight loss diets or programs involve starving yourself. Sometimes you're instructed to eat nothing, and sometimes you're told to only eat one or two specific things like celery and carrots. Often you're told to drink water frequently too.

Some crash diets actually tell you not to eat anything though... and simply drink specific things. Some of these involve drinking specially made - and marketed - juice drinks. Others may give you recipes to make your own juices.

And I'll say this again: These crash diets do make you lose weight really fast. But they come at a price. The first problem you'll discover is you have very little - if any - energy. Sometimes you'll find yourself actually getting sick on crash diets like these. And the juice based crash diets - sometimes referred to as a "fast", "cleansing" or "detox" diet - will make you go to the bathroom a lot.

No, not to pee. You will actually find yourself with diarrhea... stomach cramps and all. In fact you'll probably just stake out the bathroom during your entire "detox" period... or at least until there's nothing left to eliminate.

Many women feel the fast weight loss results are more than worth a weekend of feeling sick. And if you have a super important event to go to soon, then yes, maybe it could be worth it. But realize the weight you lose won't usually stay gone.

Most of what you're doing with these crash diets is losing water weight, and cleaning out your bowels. Depending on how bad your normal eating habits are, you could actually have 10 or more pounds worth of weight just in your bowels alone.

Getting rid of this waste weight is a great first step, but it doesn't solve the actual problem. You have fat built up in various places of your body... and crash diets do not melt that fat away. If you choose to use one of these methods for losing weight really quickly, make it your first step in a longer term, more sensible weight loss plan.

If however, you lose weight with one of these fast weight loss diets and decide to congradulate yourself with a tub of ice cream, brownies and a cheesecake... be prepare to have all that weight greet you anew on the scale the next morning.

Safe Weight Loss was

Safe Weight Loss was written by Craig Ballantyne and he writes "What is necessary for safe weight loss?

A calorie deficit must be created through exercise and a small calorie reduction. This means more energy goes out than comes in. If it were only so simple!

Problem #1

Appetite seems to increase with activity level (therefore cancels out energy expended), this may not always happen..

Problem #2

The body will attempt to conserve weight during times of increased activity and reduced calorie intake (body becomes more efficient with energy).

Problem #3

Scales do not tell how much of the body weight is muscle, fat, OR water.

Problem #4

We all know someone who eats a lot (and eats a lot of "forbidden foods") BUT does not seem to gain a pound, while others eat very little and still have difficulty in altering their body composition.

Tip #1

You must use weight training to build muscle mass and increase metabolism and you must exercise consistently. The energy expenditure will help develop a negative caloric balance.

Tip #2

Base your success on how you feel, how your clothes fit, and how well you perform in your sport/activity, NOT on how the scale reads.

Tip #3

Do not starve yourself. The body may shut down its metabolism and it becomes extremely efficient in saving/storing energy. Eat nutritious meals spaced evenly throughout the day to maintain the metabolism and provide energy for exercise. Reduce any unnecessary food intake.

Tip #4

Remember you are trying to eat fewer calories then are needed to maintain weight. Aim to reduce the calories by a maximum of 20% (i.e. 200-400 per day), BUT/ never go lower than 1500 total daily calories. Reducing the amount of fat in your diet greatly helps in reaching a calorie deficit (because each gram of fat has 9 calories).

Tip #5

Do NOT eat "fat-free" foods in excess. Remember the aim is a calorie deficit! There are no magic OR forbidden foods. Some are better than others BUT very few items need to be fully excluded from a diet. Allow yourself at least the occasional treat.

Tip #6

Choose water as your low-calorie fluid source, unless you need the nutrients that are provided by a glass of milk OR juice.

Be honest #1

Do you really need to lose weight? Losing weight often involves certain sacrifices, so determine if it is really necessary for health or performance and then make full commitment to the goal.

Be honest #2

Can you decrease your food intake without your health suffering? Try to reduce calories with your health in mind by reducing the foods with least nutritional value (i.e. processed foods, sugary drinks, excess sauces, and sugar).

Be honest #3

Are you truly hungry when you eat? Are you just thirsty, bored, stressed?

Be honest #4

Are you active for only 30minutes (your exercise session) and then stuck in a chair for the rest of the day? Consider this before you justify an increase in caloric intake.

Natural Diet tips to achieve Fast Weight Loss

Natural Diet tips to achieve Fast Weight Loss was written by Kathryn Whittaker and she writes "Because of the countless diet products lining store shelves and being advertised on television, people forget that the most effective way to lose weight is simply to exercise and eat healthy. Natural diet products, however, can help a person get to their ideal weight and they include green tea and whey.

Whey is a complex milk-based ingredient made up of protein, lactose, fat and minerals. Protein is the best-known component and it is made up of smaller protein subfractions like beta-lactoglubulin, alpha-lactalbumin, immunoglobulins, glycomacropeptides, bovine serum albumin and minor peptides such as lactoperoxidases, lysozyme and lactoferrin. Some of these subfractions are found only in small amounts (less than 1% usually) of cow’s milk..

The benefits of whey have been known for centuries. In fact, in Florence, Italy, it is said that if you want to live healthy and actively, drink whey and dine early.

Whey in weight loss

Many studies conclude that whey plays a significant role in weight reduction. The results of these studies were so astounding that whey was dubbed an adequate weight loss supplement.

Whey has unique effects on food intake. Having whey before a workout helps a person gain and preserve lean body mass. Likewise, whey maintains betaoxidation (or fat burning) during exercise, compared to other foods. If you include whey in your diet, you can increase your muscle mass and decrease your body fat. This is all because whey rapidly delivers amino acids to your body during exercise.

Not only that, but whey has been found to improve blood sugar regulation – which is another factor in controlling appetite and metabolism.

The benefit of herbal green tea extract

Green tea is famous for its medicinal benefits. Most Asian countries use it and other places around the globe are following suit. Aside from its well-known benefits, green tea can also help a person reduce weight.

Drinking green tea is also a safe way to get rid of those pounds. Unlike other herbal products, it doesn’t contain ephedra (which increases heart rate and blood pressure).

Instead, green tea contains high concentrations of catechin polyphenols, which work with other chemicals to intensify fat oxidation and thermogensis (in which heat is created in the body to burn fuels like fat). Moreover, green tea causes the release of carbohydrates to slow down and thus, prevents sharp increases of insulin in the blood.

One cup of green tea a day, or a supplemental tea extract, can help you burn 78 extra calories – so imagine if you drink more tea than that! Not only that, but green tea controls leptin, which is a protein produced by fats and it plays a vital role in how the body manages fat storage via brain signals. A lower leptin level decreases a person’s appetite and helps them to eat in moderation.

Green tea is a safe and effective weight loss tool.
